Today marks the 50th Anniversary of The Jetsons, so to mark the occasion here are a couple of Jetsons related stories.
- Paleofuture has an incredible article titled 50 Years of the Jetsons: Why the Show Still Matters, which examines the culture and history of the iconic show
- In 1962, The Jetsons had a specific view for future, some of the envisioned technology compares fairly well to what we currently have, flying cars notwithstanding
- One prediction that The Jetsons sadly got really wrong, the 3 hour work day
- Those iconic houses from The Jetsons may have a dark secret for being so cool looking, which has spawned some serious discussion, and some interesting thoughts on social justice
- While The Jetsons were not the first to imagine what the future might look like (take a look at What People in 1899 Thought the Year 2000 Would Look Like, its awesome!), they certainly did a beautiful job, and created a catchy and memorable theme song to boot!
